The launch
Modenas — Kawasaki's Malaysian distributor — unveiled the 2026 Ninja ZX-10R at the Malaysia Bike Show on 3 June 2026. It's priced at RM114,600 excluding road tax, insurance, and registration, and for this model year it's offered in a single colourway: the signature Lime Green paired with Blue 24 accents.
What's under the fairing
The ZX-10R keeps its 998cc liquid-cooled inline-four, now Euro 5 compliant, producing:
- 203 PS @ 13,200 rpm (naturally aspirated)
- 213 PS with Ram Air effect at speed
- 114.9 Nm @ 11,400 rpm peak torque
Chassis hardware reads like a proper superbike spec sheet: a Showa BFF (Balance Free Front) fork paired with a BFRC lite shock, Brembo M50 monobloc calipers up front, a full-colour TFT instrument display, four selectable riding modes, and cruise control — a feature that's increasingly expected even on track-focused machines used for road duty.
Why this matters for the Malaysian market
The ZX-10R has long been Kawasaki's homologation-special superbike — the road-going base for its World Superbike effort — and its continued presence in Malaysia at a locally competitive price point keeps the door open for riders stepping up from 600cc-class machines without jumping straight to boutique-priced Italian exotica. At RM114,600 before on-road costs, it sits in direct competition with Japanese and European literbike rivals already sold through Malaysian distributors.
For owners and prospective buyers, that also means an established parts and service ecosystem — something that matters as much as outright horsepower once the bike is actually being ridden and maintained year-round.
